Course Details Let CorelDRAW X5 unleash your creative genius! Whether you're a crafter, student, or professional graphic artist, this software is the perfect choice for your graphic design needs. CorelDRAW is easy to learn, and you'll be amazed at the professional results you can achieve right from the start. Even if you can't draw a straight line, this vector-based software program will help you draw with confidence as you create professional newsletters, greeting cards, web graphics, and logos. In addition, you'll learn how to turn plain photographs into brilliant works of art. You'll also delve into graphic design as you learn about line and shape tools, color fills, layers, text tools, page layout, templates, and import and export functions. And you'll discover how to apply special effects including shadows, transparences, 3D effects, distortions, and PowerClips so you can change an ordinary drawing or illustration into a masterpiece. While the course focuses on CorelDRAW X5, if you're using CorelDRAW X6 or CorelDRAW X7 you'll get all the support you need in each lesson's discussion area. Whether you're designing for business or pleasure, this course will give you all the skills you need to create images of the highest quality. So get ready to release the pent-up Picasso inside you! How It Works This course is fully online, you require internet access and an email account. The course duration is 6 weeks, followed by a 2-week period to complete the final exam (online, open book). Lessons are released on Wednesdays and Fridays of each week, for a total of 12. You are not required to be online at any specific time. In addition to the specific lesson content, there is a discussion board with each lesson and often there is an optional assignment to apply the learning. Following each lesson, there is a short multiple choice quiz. Your score on these quizzes does not count towards the final mark but completing these helps solidify your learning as well as prepare you for the final exam. The final exam is an open-book, multiple choice exam and you need to achieve a minimum of 65% on the final exam to pass the course. There is only one opportunity to pass the exam. A certificate of completion from Ed2Go is available for printing immediately upon successful completion of the course and a certificate from the University of Waterloo will be emailed typically 1-2 weeks later. Many of the Ed2Go courses are eligible towards the various online certificates offered by WatSPEED. You will need one of the following programs: CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 CorelDRAW Suite X5: Home and Student Edition CorelDRAW Suite X5: Education Edition Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins. You will need Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10. Artistic ability is not required, just a desire to be creative. Note: This course is not suitable for Macintosh users. While the course focuses on CorelDRAW X5, if you're using CorelDRAW X6 or CorelDRAW X7 you'll get all the support you need in each lesson's discussion area.
